PROGRAMME ONE
Examines
Nigeria’s physical features as our most enduring uniting force, the greatest
and oldest incentive to mobility and contact among the various groups that
today make up Nigeria. The diversity of
ecologies is such that no area produces all that the people need, and this
encourages contact and exchange.
At the
same time, the rivers, lagoons and creeks, the open grasslands and network of
trade routes promotes intergroups relationships. The programme shows the impact
of these inter-relationships and that no cultural group in Nigeria has been
self sufficient or isolated
